Chia seed and blueberry smoothie
Blueberries are among the most nutrient-dense berries. A cup (148-gram) serving of blueberries contains :
Fiber: 4 grams
Vitamin C: 24% of the daily requirement
Vitamin K: 36% of the daily requirement
Manganese: 25% of the daily requirement
Small amounts of various other nutrients
This smoothie combines the goodness of blueberries and chia seeds. It’s super-yum and super-healthy!!
Recipe:
Ingredients: ( 1 Glass Serving)
1 cup of coconut milk/ almond milk (even normal dairy milk also works).
1/2 cup blueberries.
2-3 tbsp of chia seeds
2 tbsp of honey
a few drops of vanilla essence(optional)
crushed almond and cashews
Method:
Soak the chia seeds in a cup of milk and add 1 tbsp, honey. You can skip the honey if you want. You can also add vanilla essence for a nice flavor and fragrance. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Now stir the mix and refrigerate overnight or for four hours.
By morning the chia seed mixture will get a thick jelly-like consistency. Now pour it in a glass or bowl.
Blend the blueberries, 1 tbsp of milk, and some honey. Pour this over the chia mixture.
Top your smoothie with some fresh blueberries and crushed nuts.
