10 Simple Ways To Style Your Hair In A Ponytail
Ponytails are great for every place be it office, parties or any casual outing. While letting your hair loose is the best option when you have a good hair day, ponytails come to your rescue even on the bad days. But they are are no longer limited to just bad hair days, even celebrities walk the red carpets flaunting different styles of ponytails.
These 10 looks are simple, quick, and you will find one for every place from work to parties.
1. The Office Look Ponytail
This is a very simple upgraded ponytail look which is ideal for work. You can try this hairstyle with both straight and curly hair. This hairstyle makes your hair look voluminous and longer.
Steps:
1. First smooth out your hair.
2. Take the front section of your hair and tie them into a pony using a hair band.
3. Now tie the lower section of your hair into another ponytail. The higher you tie the lower section the more voluminous your hair will look.
4. Now use your upper pony to hide the lower hair band. You can even use hair spray to have a better effect.

2. Flip Twist Ponytail
This quick and easy hairstyle is great for the everyday look.
Steps:
1. Part your hair from where you normally do. Now take a triangular section of hair from slightly above your left ear. Twist this section towards the back of the head.
2. Repeat this same process for right side as well.
3. Tie the two twisted section together with a hair band.
4. Flip the tied section up and around the hair band to make the twist tighter. Now, gently pull the twists all along from front to back to make them look fuller.
5. Now take all the hair and tie together with another hair band.
6. Take a section of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the hair band to hide it. Secure it using a bobby pin.
7. Back comb the base of your ponytail to get a fuller look.

3. Fishtail Pigtails
This funky faux fishtail pigtails by Kirsten Zellers makes your pigtails look so voluminous and don’t worry about the fishtails. Since they are not actual fishtails, you get the look without the effort.
Steps:
1. Part your hair from the middle and secure them into low pigtails.
2. Tie the pigtails again around 6 inches down (this may vary according to the length of your hair).
3. Hold one of the pigtail and split the hair between the two elastics in half. Now loop the bottom part of the hair i.e. the part below the second elastic through the split you created. This gives a faux fishtail braid.
4. Gently pull at the sides of the fishtail to give more volume.
4. Chignon Ponytail
This ponytail is ideal for parties and outings with your friends. Don’t go on how difficult looks, it’s pretty simple and you won’t need any help to get this look right.
Steps:
1. This hairstyle looks great with sleek straight hair. So, start by ironing your hair straight.
2. Now divide the front right side of your hair into small sections and secure them at the back using bobby pins as shown in step 2.
3. Take the hair from your left front side and the ones from right side that you secured with bobby pin together. Now twist them together at the back.
4. Tie all the hair together into a low ponytail.
5. Use a small section of your hair to cover the elastic band.
6. Use bobby pins to secure that small section.
7. Gently pull on the hair on the right side to get more volume.

5. The Low Ponytail
This is a favourite among many celebrities. You will often see them flaunting this sleek sexy look even on the red carpet.
Steps:
1. Section the front half of your hair just above the ears separate.
2. Backcomb the crown for more volume at top.
3. Now comb again to get a smooth look.
4. Tie the back section into a low ponytail.
5. Pull the front left section back, and wrap over the pony. Use bobby pins to secure it.
6. Repeat the same with the right section.
7. Use hairspray to get a sleeker look.
6. The Pony Braid Combo
If you know how to do a french braid this is one of the easiest and coolest hairstyle you can try.
Steps:
1. Take a triangular section of hair on one side.
2. Make a french braid with that section as shown in step 2 and tie it loosely with a clear elastic.
3. You can also use texture powder.
4. Gently pull hair from the braid to make it thicker.
5. Use hairspray over the unbraided hair.
6. Now gather all the hair including the braid into a high pony.
7. Take a small strand of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic to cover it up, then pin underneath using a bobby pin.

7. The Bubble Ponytail
The bubble ponytail or also called as the segmented ponytail is pretty simple. This one is great for summers where even a strand of hair touching your neck can be so annoying.
Steps:
1. Pull your hair up into a high ponytail at the crown of your head.
2. Gently comb your hair with a brush.
3. Tie a clear elastic around the pony tail about two to three inches down and gently pull on the bubble to make it thicker.
4. You can make as many bubbles as you want.

Steps:
1. First tie your hair into a high ponytail.
2. Divide the ponytail into two equal parts and twist the two parts with each other until the hair ends.
3. Use a hair band to secure the hair ends.
9. The Twisted Side Ponytail
Use a cute hair accessory with this ponytail to make it look even more attractive.
Steps:
1. Divide your hair into two sections from the centre.
2. Tie a pony using a clear elastic on one side.
3. Divide the other half into three small sections and twist each section one by one to secure with the side pony.

10. The Double Braided Ponytail
This double braided ponytail even though a little time consuming looks ravishing especially if you have voluminous hair.
Steps:
1. This hairstyle is just an extension of the pony braid combo. Divide your hair into two sections from the centre.
2. Take a triangular section of hair from one side and create a dutch braid on this side till the braid reaches the your shoulder.
3. Repeat the same on the other side as well.
4. Now secure both the braids and the rest of the hair into a low pony using a hair band.
5. Use a small section of hair to wrap around the hair band and secure it underneath using bobby pins.
