Bread Pizza
There is something special about Italian food. Almost anyone you ask loves Italian food, especially pizza. But before you pick up your phone to order from Dominoes, let me tell you that a regular Domino’s cheese pizza has 2,222 calories and obviously these are not good calories.
So, if you are really craving for a pizza try this quick and easy bread pizza. One slice of this bread pizza is around 290 calories. So, you can easily have a slice of this pizza to subside your cravings and since it’s freshly cooked at home the calories in it are not so bad afterall !!
Ingredients:
4 bread slices or sandwich bread slices - whole wheat, multi-grain or brown bread
olive oil or butter or ghee as required
toppings for bread pizza
pizza sauce as required (if you don’t have pizza sauce just mix some red chili sauce with ketchup and use)
1 medium onion - cut in small cubes
1 medium capsicum - cut in small cubes
1 medium tomato - cut in small cubes (optional)
5 to 6 olives - sliced (optional)
oregano as required
crushed black pepper or black pepper powder, as required, (optional)
1 to 1.25 cups grated mozzarella cheese or pizza cheese - add as required
red chili flakes as required - (optional)
Instructions
Heat a pan. Spread about ½ teaspoon olive oil/ butter/ ghee on it.
Lightly toast the bread slice from one side on it. Now flip the slice and switch off the flame or take the bread off the pan.
Spread some pizza sauce on the lightly toasted side.
Top with onion cubes, capsicum cubes, and the tomato cubes. Also, add some sliced olives (if available).
Sprinkle dried herbs like oregano, basil. Also, add some crushed black pepper or black pepper powder.
Now top with grated mozzarella cheese.
Turn the flame to its lowest. Place the slices on the pan and place a lid on the bread pizza.
Cook till cheese melts and the bread is toasted.
Serve bread pizza hot. You can also sprinkle oregano and chili flakes on top.
