Beetroot Juice
The beet is a sweet root vegetable that most people hate. I am not a fan of the vegetable myself but it has risen to the superfood status over the last decade. Research shows that drinking beetroot juice may be very beneficial to your health.
Some of the benefits of beetroot are:
It lowers blood pressure.
Improves stamina.
It helps maintain a healthy weight.
It’s a good source of potassium.
Prevents fatty deposits in the liver.
Good source of Vitamin C.
Reduces cholesterol.
Prevents anemia and iron deficiency.
Enhances skin health
Helps with constipation
So here is a quick recipe for beet juice which you can enjoy in summers and it tastes great even if you hate beetroot!!
Recipe:
Ingredients:
1/2 medium beet, peeled and roughly chopped
1 small seedless cucumber, peeled
1-inch length piece fresh ginger scrubbed clean and roughly chopped
1 carrot, scrubbed clean and roughly chopped
1/2 a lemon’s juice
Instructions:
Add all the ingredients in a juicer except lime juice, if juicer is not available just blend them together.
Strain and sieve if blended.
Add lime juice (You can also add salt and pepper).
Serve cold.
